Last Friday, the Richland College Photography Department and Student Programs brought internationally known photographer Keith Carter to Dallas for a student seminar and evening lecture presentation. I would like to thank all those who contributed to the success of this Richland College Photography Presentation Series event:

Richard Grimes for ordering the Keith Carter books from the publisher for our book sale and book-signing.
Mark Murray for the addition of this event on our Web page.
Jennifer Owen for the use of the Arena Theater and technical training of our faculty.
Jenni Gilmer, Whitney Rosenbalm and Anitra Cotton for getting the word out to the public.
Randall Garrett for sending out press, arranging for food and tables for the reception, securing the library and Performance Hall lobby space, and for an excellent introduction of our guest for the evening lecture.
Anna Fritzel-Shows for the transportation and distribution of the Keith Carter books, as well as assisting in the book sales.

I want to extend a very sincere thank you to the everyone who gave up their Saturday to help families, particularly Spanish-speaking parents, fill out FAFSA forms at the Hands-On Financial Aid Workshop. It took an incredible group effort from us as well as the GISD Hispanic Administrators and the Garland Association for Hispanic Affairs to be able to serve the more than 300 people in attendance. The volunteers who dedicated themselves to meet this challenge were:
From Los Patos Listos: Robert Galindo, Cindy Castañeda, Ray Canham, Jamie Hardy
From Rising Star: Hilda Della-Sera and about a dozen Rising Star college students
From Thunderducks at large: Howard Clapper, Susan Wehe, Anne Leazar, Laura Moguel, Mercy Fernandes, and Miriam Leyva
And last, but not least our Financial Aid Staff: Bruce Anderson, Vicki Goux and Tayyaba Shahdad.
Thanks for being a great team! If I have left anyone off, please forgive me.
