Institutional Effectiveness — A Richland SACS Accreditation Reaffirmation Team composed of Speech Communications Professor Dru Bookout, History Professor Ambronita Douzart, Journalism/Developmental Writing Professor Doug Wilson, Director of Institutional Research Bao Huynh, and SACSCOC Liaison Janet James attended the SACSCOC Summer Institute in Tampa, Florida. Professors Bookout and Wilson are co-chairs of Richland’s 11-member Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) Leadership Team to gain collegewide input in identifying the student learning topic for Richland’s 2013 QEP initiative. Along with Professor Douzart, a QEP Leadership Team member, Ms. Bookout and Mr. Wilson attended a number of sessions to learn more about SACSCOC guiding principles, topic selection, scope, focus, and execution of a meaningful, measurable QEP required for successful accreditation reaffirmation. Mr. Huynh will provide valuable research support for both the QEP identification and deployment initiative and Richland’s Certification of Compliance.
