by Jenni Gilmer on February 6th, 2010

Sustainable Community Building — In celebration of Mexico’s Bicentennial Independence, this week Richland’s Center for Mexican American/Latino Studies hosted writer and playwright Edgar Chías.  The renowned writer and playwright made a presentation on the fascinating life of Benito Juárez, Mexico’s first indigenous president and a founding father of Mexico’s constitution. This event, presented in conjunction with Teatro Dallas’ 14th International Theater Festival, was one in a series of events this spring celebrating Mexico and its nearly 200 years of independence.
