Sustainable Community Building – On Nov. 10 Richland faculty and staff members including Susan Barkley, Noeli Biggs, Mary Darin, Martha Hogan, Fred Newbury and Jeana Remington hosted a delegation of students and educators from Saratov State University from Saratov, Russia. Included in the group were four internationally acclaimed musicians who performed for Richland staff and students in Fannin Performance Hall. Richland and Saratov students have been collaborating in joint learning projects in economics, history, and journalism courses since 2005. As a part of the ongoing exchange, Richlanders Susan Barkley, Mary Darin, M.T. Hickman, Martha Hogan, Fred Newbury, and Jeana Remington facilitated seminars for 180 English instructors at Saratov State University last summer.
